God turned bad into good

One day last week was turning out to be very bad.  I don't want to praise the bad, but here are a few reasons why. 

My mom is not christian and she thinks I'm in a cult because we are too "closed minded" about Jesus being the only way etc.  This often causes spirtual debate that can sometimes become very heated.  Lately, I feel as if I've begun to get a good handle on not arguing but simply explaining the Gospel, but mom stills gets pretty mad.  On this particular day she began some name calling and degraded me in many ways.  I have really really tough skin because as a child I always got picked on by the bullies.  But being called names and made fun of by someone who had always only ever nurtured and loved me was something I couldn't handle.  I broke down.

As well, there was some pretty serious financial difficulty going on and a handful of other things that were icing on the cake.

This was turning out to be a very very bad day.

But because of the kind of brokenness it put me in God was able to work in my life.  My wife turned on some worship.  We began to focus on God not ourselves.  She began to comfort me and talk me through it.  She's amazing like that. 

Within maybe 30 minutes I was in the Spirit riding on the clouds and felt extremely close to my wife because of her sacrifice and ministering to me.

A peace like no other settled upon my soul and God had turned that seemingly aweful day into an amazing experience.  Only His amazing grace can do such things.  His love is endless.  I am certainly glad that I am a Child of God.
